Jooyong Kim, Ph. D. founded Fashionoid® R&D center in January 2014 as chief executive director, responsible for leading the center’s strategic vision. He brings to Fashionoid ® more than 30 years of experience building successful technology development. Prior to founding Fashionoid® R&D center , he was a founder nano-electronics Lab. established in 2006, where he predicted that electronic materials would be prevailed and applied for developing electronic textiles and fashion wearables including health care, military, and sports/leisure products. These innovative electronic textile applications have been invented and delivered over 30 types of products. He has been exposed to mass media over 300 timesthrough lectures, interview, and TV programs for last 3 years.
Jooyong Kim received the B.S. and M.S. degree in fiber and polymer science & engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1990 and 1992, respectively. He is currently working as a professor at department of organic materials and fiber engineering of Soongsil University, Seoul, Korea since 1999 after Ph.D. at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, USA. From 1998 to 1999, he was a post-doctoral researcher at department of mechanical & aerospace engineering of UCLA, California, USA. His research interest includes the development of smart fashion products based on electronic textiles.
